As I come home and ring the bell, they come running to embrace me,
Hug me tightly, climb up my lap, delving for some special gifts
Inquisitive if I have brought in something new, something sweet
They always inquire, at times peevishly so,
In their squeaky sweet voice which I so adore,
And if they don’t find anything special, it’s time for some antics
When it’s time to go to bed, and snuggle up between the sheets
I hear the giggling and noises of my little naughty beings
I go and exhort them to sleep which they happily dismiss
Then I have to don my stricter avatar and tell them to sleep
They snuggle up inside the sheets and get into their dreamland
As I see their cute little faces light up my beautiful live
Beautiful poem 🙂
